The Collaborative Laboratory Network is a strategic initiative coordinated by INESC-MN, which brings together scientific and technological institutions and SMEs with the aim of accelerating the development of innovative products in the energy sector.
Infrastructure for innovation and competitiveness
This Collaborative Network offers a robust infrastructure, supported by the collaboration of laboratories from leading organisations such as INEGI, INESC-ID, INESC TEC, ISQ, INL, SEL, the University of Évora and WavEC. These organisations provide complementary skills that cover the entire development cycle of new products and solutions, including the design and testing of materials, the development of prototypes and tests in a real environment and the certification and assessment of acceptance by end users.
Strategic objectives
This initiative aims to create a national infrastructure capable of validating solutions for the energy transition, with the aim of increasing the international competitiveness of the energy sector, attracting investment and European funds. Integrating the capacities of public and private laboratories will make it possible to offer high added-value services, strengthening testing and certification units and guaranteeing high standards of performance and safety. The modernisation and expansion of testing and simulation equipment will be a priority, bringing it into line with the challenges of the energy transition.
Digital collaboration platform
To facilitate liaison between laboratories and support companies, a digital platform will be developed. This tool will centralise information on the services available, foster new partnerships and guide companies in the creation of viable and commercially competitive technologies, covering the entire energy value chain.
Investment in a sustainable future
This project has an investment of 1.9 million euros and is co-financed by the PRR through the ATE Agenda, to boost collaboration between science, technology and industry and position Portugal at the forefront of innovation.
