INEGI driving science & innovation is developing an innovative project, within the scope of the ATE Agenda, which aims to make seaports more sustainable and quieter.
The project presents a solution capable of supplying electricity to docked ships, allowing them to switch off their auxiliary engines, which currently run on fossil fuels. This makes it possible to reduce pollutant emissions and noise in port areas.
The initiative stands out for its use of recycled materials, including end-of-life wind turbine blades, combining technological innovation, circular economy and sustainability. This approach represents an important step towards the energy transition of the maritime sector.
