OPT (Optimização e Planeamento de Transportes, S.A.) is developing an innovative platform for the Multimodal Management of Public Transport, focused on the efficient synchronisation of transport networks in Portugal.
A solution for better coordination and efficiency
The growing integration between different modes of transport requires more effective management to reduce delays and improve the passenger experience. The new platform will make it possible to assess and optimise coordination between operators, guaranteeing more efficient connections.
Cutting-edge technology at the service of mobility
The solution uses advanced algorithms to synchronise timetables and predict passenger flows, based on data from sensors, multimodal interfaces and profiles generated by surveys and mathematical models.
The demonstration pilot is being implemented at Ermesinde (Porto) and Cais do Sodré (Lisbon) stations, with an investment of around 2.5 million euros. The project has partners such as INESC-TEC, the University of Porto, IST, IDMEC, ISEL, SOLVIT and Nomad Tech and will be tested in the first half of 2025.
This project is co-funded by the PRR, through the ATE-Alliance for the Energy Transition.
