Caxias Living Lab is a Galp initiative that aims to test innovative energy concepts and technologies with the local community, thus promoting decarbonisation and sustainable energy solutions.

This energy community is made up of 20 buildings and 10 energy producers, including private homes and public facilities, and will transform the way we produce and consume energy.

With access to more than 200 solar panels and 8 batteries, the energy generated by the community will be used for their consumption and to power electric water heaters, heat pumps, electric vehicle chargers and decentralised batteries. Surplus energy will be managed and shared by the entire community, which will also have a large-scale centralised battery.

The Caxias Living Lab is supported by ATE through the PRR and reinforces our commitment to innovation towards a greener and more sustainable future!
